Upcoming Courses

Starting October 1, 2007:

VTNE Preparation Course

During this 8 week course, emphasis is placed on those areas relevant to the examination content. A review of basic veterinary science is also included. The course provides an overview of each relevant area in an effort to assist the student in identifying the areas most in need of review. The instructor will provide additional readings and information as necessary to assist the student in reviewing the material.

Included in the course are 2 full length 200 question practice examinations. After the 8 week session students will be able to continue to access the course to avail themselves of the study content and sample tests.

Starting October 1, 2007:

Basic Principles of Pharmacology

In this 4-week course, topics such as basic math for pharmacology and the general drug groups will be discussed. Additionally, subjects include inventory management for pharmaceuticals, immunizations, prescriptions and labeling. This course does not require the purchase of outside materials - all course content is online.

This course carries 15 RACE credits for technicians. Registration deadline is September 28. For more information, click here.


Starting October 1, 2007:

HR: Employee Performance Reviews

This two week course is designed to assist practice managers/administrators develop an employee performance appraisal and review system for their veterinary practice. After completion of this course, the student will understand the importance of maintaining a consistent performance review protocol for all employees. Students will also learn how to create an appraisal form as well as learn how to write and give reviews for individual employees. No additional materials required - all course content is online.

The course carries 5 RACE credits for technicians and veterinarians. Registration deadline is September 28. For more information, click here.


Starting October 1, 2007:

Basic Principles of Urinalysis

This two week course, offers an introduction to the basics of urinalysis. Topics covered in this course are proper methods of sample collection; methods of manual testing; microscopic identification of cells and casts found in urine sediment; terminology; and basic abnormalities.

Required text: Urinalysis & Hematology for the Small Animal Practitioner by Carolyn A. Sink and Bernard Feldman; Teton New Media 2004. The books will be ordered and shipped after the registration deadline. This course has been formatted to allow for the delivery of the textbook after the course has started. Students do not need to wait until the text is received to begin course work.

The course carries 10 RACE credits for technicians. Registration deadline is September 28. For more information, click here.
